Former Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham gets slammed for her parenting, but she says she's doing an excellent job as a mom. In her latest docu-comedy, Abraham sings her praises and calls herself an "amazing mom." Here's what she had to say.
Farrah Abraham says she's proud of the job she has done as a mom
Abraham has faced her share of mom-shaming, but she says she takes pride in what she does for her daughter, Sophia. In the fifth installment of her docu-comedy series, the former Teen Mom star says she takes her daughter out and spends time with her:
I'm also loving that I brought Sophia to dinner with me tonight, and she was like, kicking it with the guys and having fun. Half the time, Sophia is super bored. She didn't get bored; she was totally into her phone. But I love that as a mom, which people so disagree with, that I do take my daughter out. I do encourage her to be part of podcasts, and a part of fun little dinners, and good things, like socialize. But, instead, all I get is really a child who is just obsessing over Tik Toks.
Farrah Abraham says she's an 'amazing' mom
Abraham was beaming with pride because Sophia wore a pair of earrings from her new jewelry collection for school picture day. Abraham says she was upset her parents didn't make a full school picture chart for her when she was a child. However, she vowed to make sure she keeps track of her daughter's school pictures each year:
I just want to get a chart and just make her kindergarten through whatever because for me, my family kept me in the middle of nowhere the entirety of my life in Iowa. So, my chart wasn't all the way filled in for some reason. They had no excuse for why they couldn't fill in my whole life cycle.
I'm going to make my daughter's school picture chart because I am an amazing mom. Regardless of what the tabloids say, or preach, or pray, or hope that I would be a bad mom—and also Teen Mom hoped that I would be a bad mom—I am the most amazing mom. I go above, I go beyond, and yes, I even took my daughter to a podcast and a dinner tonight. There were no other 10-year-olds there, but why not?
Being a mom isn't always easy for Farrah Abraham
Abraham confessed things aren't always smooth for her as a single mom. She said she feels like she's spreading herself too thin sometimes. "Life is full of disappointments, isn't it? Life is also full of spreading myself too thin. I wish I had 500 other Farrahs. And I already play a mom and a dad. Widow me," said Abraham. In a previous YouTube video, Abraham said she sometimes wears the same outfit two days in a row because she's so busy being a mom and entrepreneur.
Abraham says her hectic mom life often means wearing outfits that can be worn for multiple activities, such as school pickup and drop-off, the gym, and the DMV. "Being a single parent, I don't even have time to change clothes sometimes," said Abraham.
